Just two months to go to the 2017 edition of
the HERO Südtirol Dolomites, the world’s toughest and most looked forward to
marathon of the year, and one remaining chance to take part is that of buying a
race start number together with a three day holiday package in one of the
establishments participating in the Hotel Partner initiative. The second
possibility to compete is through the charitable initiative in favour of the
populations in central Italy who were hit by last year’s earthquakes. Two
opportunities to make the most of and so be one of the 4017 prospective HEROes
lining up at the start on 17 June at Selva Val Gardena.
It is now 8 years since the
HERO was first run and it is considered the jewel in the crown
for all mountain bike enthusiasts keen to put themselves through
the ultimate test of mountain biking. In fact since 2010 bikers
from all over the world train hard so as to be able to challenge
what has been termed as the world’s toughest mountain bike race:
the HERO
Südtirol Dolomites.

one of 86 kilometres with 4,500 metres of altitude difference and
the other of 60 kilometres with 3,200 metres of altitude
difference, both around the Sella Group, the Dolomites mountain
area so beautiful and fascinating that it enjoys the status of

Holiday package:
race start number and hotel
To make sure of your place at
this truly heroic mtb event it is possible to buy one of the few
remaining race
start numbers still available, this by buying together with a
three day holiday package at one of the establishments taking
part in the event Hotel Partner initiative.
Packages remain available until sold out so there is still time
to book one of the hotels and thereby take part in the HERO 2017,
and the hospitality package will ensure that you enjoy a real
HERO weekend with the solution of your choice – bed &

Charity race
start number in support of areas struck by earthquakes
Another possibility to have a
race start number and be at the start line is through a charity
initiative, specific for the 2017 edition of the HERO, and aimed
at creating a fund in support of the populations in central Italy
struck by the devastating earthquakes of some months ago. Our aim
is to assist so that the works of reconstruction can proceed at
an even faster pace. We have created special “charity” race
places at the cost of Euro 200 each.
